This project was created as part of CEX – a charity art exhibition run by production house, CuttingEdge. The brief? Transform a plain, wooden bowling pin into art to raise money for Australian charity, Youngcare. Our idea was simple: go against the usual look-but-don’t-touch attitude of the art world, and create a piece meant to be knocked over. We hand-sculpted and cut the wooden pin into 43 individual pieces, then sanded, varnished, and assembled them to perfection. This project meant so much to us because the profits it sold for in the exhibition went to helping young people in need. As a copywriter and creative director in our day to day lives, it was challenging and satisfying doing something tactile with our hands, and all for a good cause.
