About Us

The Side Show was created during the Covid lockdown during the summer of 2020. Sunita Deshpande and Josh D. Weiss lamented there was no central place for all the side projects people were creating and thus The Side Show was born.

Under its original format, a yearly award show, it ran for two years. During that time nearly 1,000 projects were submitted, thousands of dollars were given out for awards, and the show hosted almost thirty live events for its Creative Week.

After a nearly two year break, a corrupted server move and a complete site redesign, The Side Show is back under a new and improved format. With the relaunch, there are no longer submission fees and all projects submitted will be indexed on the site. Judges will regularly look at the entries to pick which ones deserve extra recognition to join our featured gallery. We hope you’ll join us and enjoy the show!
