As portrait photographers, my friend and I always aimed to capture the most intimate moments shared between ourselves and our models. That’s why we decided to walk around downtown Boston and take portraits of strangers during their most vulnerable moment—mid fart. (Hence the name “Fart Face”). In order to incentivize strangers to fart on camera, we held a giant sign that read “CAN U FART FOR $5?” In a matter of hours, we spent over $100… on farts. And yes, in order to make sure that our subjects were really farting and not just fake-farting, we held a small microphone next to each of our models’ butts and had the audio wired to our cameraman’s headphones.
