Look at any fashion magazine and you’ll notice endless lists of celebrity’s “essentials.” But none of those items are ever actually essentials. They’re luxuries. To raise awareness for a good cause, my art director and I turned this concept on its head by capturing the real essentials of homeless people in the same style as the fashion magazines.
Made with no agency or budget, it was covered by CBS News, Adweek, AdAge, WNW Magazine, MSN News, Trend Hunter, received social coverage from CNN and The Huffington Post and was shown as a fundraising exhibit.
