I am of Vietnamese descent and I found a way to convey my depiction of the next generation of the Vietnamese diaspora through visual narratives and short stories. Vi Son Trinh and I created Silk Rise to pay homage to our Vietnamese upbringing and also a last creative sprint before we both moved onto the next chapter of our lives. We shot, produced, and directed 12 shoots and featured over 17 people in a span of 30 days. Don’t believe that creative hustle happened? We still have the receipts and the eye bags to prove it.
