The ‘Greenbelt’ is a stretch of public trails and parkland in and around Austin TX that follows a beautiful limestone-filtered, aquamarine stretch of spring-fed creeks, fed by protected aquifers that filter the water for miles and then pump it back out again in the form of springs, most famous being Barton Springs. It’s a gem, and on a non-quarantined summer day you would normally find the waters packed.
I started this project last year, just kind of thinking about the design for months before ever opening Illustrator. Trying to capture the feel of the place is tough, especially in a vector format.
